Biography

Since its spring release, the INHABITANTS self-titled debut rode to #2 in Chart Attacks Canadian Top Ten/Jazz and the band has been nominated for “Electric Group of the Year” 2005 National Jazz Awards.

The music of 'Inhabitants' touches on sounds from early 70's electro-jazz à la 'Miles Davis' to art-rock à la 'God Speed You Black Emperor' to contemporary ambient grooves. Each member of the group JP Carter on trumpet & electronics, Dave Sikula on guitar & electronics, Skye Brooks on drums, and Pete Schmitt on bass, is deeply involved in Vancouver’s contemporary creative music and contributes compositions to the recording.
